Affordable Skincare: Best of the Best

Best of the Best: Affordable Skincare

Hello everyone! Today I thought I would share with you, in my opinion, the best of affordable skincare. All of these products are under $20. When most people think of affordable skincare, they think of Neutrogena and Olay, but even those brands’ prices are rising. With the products I’m showing you today, not only are you getting an affordable price, you’re also getting SAFE products. I refuse to use most mainstream drugstore brands like Olay, Neutrogena, etc, for the ingredient lists are terrible. Most people think Neutogena is safe, but it’s quite the opposite. For proof, the majority of their products are rated 9 and 10’s on the think dirty app.

I’m currently reading Skin Cleanse which is informing me more about which ingredients are bad and which are good. This book has encouraged me to throw out several products that I “thought” were safe. Almost all of my skincare collection consists of products with safe ingredients, but there’s some that i’m having a tough time parting with. With cancer more prevalent than ever in today’s society,it’s time to start thinking more about what’s in our products. For safe options, I mainly shop at Vitacost for affordable options (i’m addicted to that website). If you click on this link, you can get $10 off your order of $30 or more! Most of these products will be available there.

I will be talking about these products in the order that I use them, enjoy!

Lets start with this MyChelle Fruit Enzyme Cleanser ($14.40). They also have a travel size that’s $8. This cleanser smells wonderful, it makes your skin smooth, it’s great for breakouts, and it doesn’t dry out your skin. Plus, it’s free of gluten, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, ureas, petroleum-based chemicals and artificial colors.

This is the second time I had repurchased this product, and it’s one of those products that I had a tough time giving up, for I loved the results of this Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner. The reason I was a little iffy about this product is that it contains artificial fragrance. Products with artificial fragrances, when they’re pretty high up on the ingredients list, can be one of the main causes of acne, for they imbalance our hormones. The only reason I had kept using this is because I noticed a difference when I wasn’t using this, and that is how you can tell if a product is working. My skin just looked so much more radiant and felt more smooth while using it! When I ran out of this product, I decided to try the Indie Lee CO Q-10 toner, which is much more safe, and smells great NATURALLY. I have to say, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to this toner. I wanted to include this into this post because it’s $18 and the Indie Lee toner is $32. 🙁

Next, we have the OZ Naturals Hyluronic Acid Serum ($16). What this is going to do is smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, hydrate your skin, and leave you with a glowing complexion. Some people have even called this, “facelift in a bottle” and at $16, i’d say that’s a very inexpensive facelift!

Now we have my all-time favorite safe eye cream, the CSI Vivid Eyes Eye Cream ($10). If you have puffy eyes when you wake up in the morning (if you don’t it’s likely you’re not human), this will be your best friend. This depuffs your eyes like nothing else. Plus, it smells like cucumbers!

It’s likely that this is my all-time favorite day cream, the Andalou Naturals Renewal Cream ($19.99). Everything about this product, in my opinion, is perfect. It moisturizes my dry skin, it smells incredible, doesn’t leave my face looking greasy at all, and it’s free of Sulfates, GMO, and parabens.

I have re-purchased this Andalou Naturals Night Cream ($19.99) multiple times. The smell is what I love most about this product. This is just a fantastic fuss-free night cream. You don’t have to go to bed looking like an oily mess, yet when you wake up, your skin will feel incredibly soft.

Next, we have this Organic Argan Oil ($7) from Vitacost! You can find multiple argan oils on the market for $40 and $50 dollars, and I have tried a couple of them, but this one will always be my favorite! I add this to the night cream above to add even more moisture!

I hope you enjoyed this post of my favorite affordable skin care products, have a fantastic rest of your day!

I love this selection! I have tried the MyChelle Fruit Enzyme Cleanser once before and I absolutely loved it! I wish they sold the travel size one in my store.
I also love Covergirl & Olay skincare products. If anyone’s interested you can request some of their free samples to try out (foundation, moisturizer & concealer) http://www.freebiehunter.org/covergirl-olay-liquid-foundation-sample/

Hi, thank you for your blog! I so very much enjoy reading wvery one of them!! I was reading all about your most inexpensive products, I just had a quick question..would you have any recommendations for rosacea..that’s what I suffer with..or are all those products safe for me to use? I’m in my 40’s and wrinkles have seemed to found a home with me lol thank you!! Appreciate all your help!

I believe all of the products are safe for your rosacea, excluding the glycol acid toner! I would recommend a toner like the Derma E Soothing Toner to use after cleansing. That helps calm redness! Hope this helps.
