December Beauty Review

December Beauty Review

The month of December has completely flown by, but that’s usually how it goes! This Christmas’ weather, like almost everyone else’s, was not at all cold. Even though the weather wasn’t ideal, it was one of my favorite Christmases yet. My family and boyfriend completely spoiled me, and I feel so extremely blessed.

Something I have always wanted to try, but would literally laugh out loud at the price tag, is the Kypris Beauty Elixir I 1,000 Roses. This year, my amazing boyfriend bought it for me and I was completely shocked! First off, I don’t even want to type the price because it’s so insane, so you can look for yourself. Before we get into the details, I want to say something about the founder of Kypris, Chase Polan! I watched a live broadcast of her talking the viewers through her products, how she uses them, and her favorites. I was so into the broadcast because she was insanely interesting and you could tell she knew. her. stuff. You can look up her interviews on YouTube under Kypris Beauty to see for yourself!

Packaging:

One thing that I always wondered was, “Why would something so expensive be packaged in a glass bottle where it could break so easily?” After some research, my question has been answered. Kypris puts all their products in glass bottles for three main reasons. Plastic packaging can contaminate the product. Plastic containers can absorb the smell of essential oils, and most of Kypris’ products contain them. Also, glass can keep the products fresh longer. Kypris’ bottles are made out of lab glass, so unless you are doing some pretty crazy things with your products, they won’t be breaking (I’m still insanely careful with mine).

First Impression:

The color is very orange/brown, but completely disappears after contact with skin. There isn’t much of a smell at all as far as I can tell. I knew after the first day of using it that it was going to be my dry skin’s savior!

How I use it:

On a daily basis, AM and PM, I mix three drops of the oil with four drops of the Kypris Antioxidant dew on the tips of my fingers and press the products into my skin. Sometimes, if my skin is extra dry from the weather, I use the Antioxidant dew as a serum and then layer the oil on top instead of mixing them.

Results:

This beauty oil has the essential oil of a 1,000 organic Bulgarian roses! That’s insane! I had very high expectations not only because of the price tag, but also because I hadn’t heard ONE negative review. When I say that this is my favorite oil I have ever used, I’m not kidding. My favorite thing about this oil is that it sinks into the skin so fast and doesn’t make your face look “oily” but dewy! And who doesn’t want to look like they’ve been drinking the amount of water they should every day without actually doing so?! My skin feels so much more hydrated and it looks so much more even. I have very red skin and it truly has decreased my redness. I am so in love with this oil, and I can tell it’s going to last me for quite some time. Although, I don’t know what I am going to do when it’s gone!

Here is the $90 mini size if you want to try it, but not spend so much $$$! It’s still crazy, just not AS crazy.

Next, is the Kypris Beauty Elixir III Prismatic Array. I ordered this on Black Friday in this mini size because I had a coupon for 20% off! This offers great results as well, but I definitely prefer the Beauty Elixir I. This Elixir is a great option for people with sensitive skin, for it contains ZERO essential oils.

This elixir doesn’t have a smell either, which is nice! At $70, these are still pricey, but if you don’t want to commit to the full size’s price of $150, these are great option!

This elixir is fantastic for people with sun damage, because it has Kaneka CoQ10. It has vitamin C and E, Prickly Pear seed oil, Baobab, and Kukui nut oil… and that’s just some of its key ingredients! Basically, this oil is everything you need to make your ski look and feel fantastic.

December Beauty Review Now onto something that I found not so fantastic… The Flowers Cranberry Vanilla body moisturizer. This organic body lotion sounded amazing on EcoDiva.com, for cranberry and vanilla are two of my favorite things. Unfortunately, this lotion smells exactly like Play-Doh! That is just not something I want to smell like…

Next, we have the Indie Lee Swiss Apple Facial Serum. This is also something that I have had my eye on for quite some time. Indielee.com had a discount code available on Black Friday, so I decided to just go ahead and splurge. Also, I got a free body balm with my purchase, so it definitely was worth it!

First, I absolutely love Indie Lee’s packaging and of course every product that I have ever tried from them. Although, this one… I’m not exactly sure. At first, I was loving it, but after a couple days of using it, I started noticing the texture of my face was completely changing. It was almost rough feeling. Then, I started noticing little white bumps under the surface of my skin. This was the only thing I had added to my skincare routine, so I pinned it to this little guy. That said, I stopped using it immediately. It was just until a few days ago that I started using it again, and I haven’t noticed anything unusual since. I’m still testing it out and will report back to you. It may have just been a freak one-time thing!

Okay… If it’s a black glass bottle and has the words “May Lindstrom” on it… I know I’ll love it. May just gets it right. And she most definitely got The Youth Dew right. This oil serum is absolutely fantastic. The smell, the consistency, etc.. I love it all. Well, everything besides the $140 price. I have been using this for two weeks and I already love this serum so much, but I would say that I like the Kypris Antioxidant Dew more. The reason being that I use the Beauty Elixir I as my top layer of moisture in the morning and if I use this in conjunction with The Youth Dew, I look a little too shiny. Aaaand the Kypris serum is $73 cheaper. I have been switching the two out and both will offer amazing results. It comes down to personal preference. The Kypris serum has a white milky heavenly texture and this is oil based and has an orange/brown color. The Antioxidant Dew has an earthy, but pleasant scent, and the youth dew has a very warm scent with a hint of rose.
